Tablet Practice

Today we started to use the tablets and using Photoshop get a feel of working with them, I was just getting the hang of using the tablet but have some images here of what I did, just a sketch and then practice colouring.

Also when practising with the tablet I have been given a 2 week mini project to come up with character design and background and import it onto a template, which when printed can be folded together to make a paper model, enjoying this course even more will post more soon.

Just a quick sketch using the tablet.

Using the tablet I created my own sonic character getting a basic sketch and practising with the colouring

Next Project

New Project

After completing the last project which included the use of making a car design using Autodesk, my new project the I will be working on is to research, design and make a playable level using Unreal Editor. Research is the key for this project as it is the starting point that gives me inspiration towards the layout and look of my level.

When doing my Research, it is important for me to involve my level with a theme and develop it around my theme. This will not only give it a purpose to why it my look a particular way, but keep my level from getting off track. With the use of research it can help me create designs, including some concept drawings of the basic look, and overall scale.

Making my level playable is also an important part with this project, being able to run around in my level is part of what making games is about. Making my level playable is probably my last stage, but will include all of what I have researched and designed. When making it able to play my level can include a purpose within it, which could include that the player can run around and explore my level facing enemies in order to progress. Even adding features that the player can interact with like doors, switches, and puzzles this can give a better experience in the level.

Research on level so far

For my level I have been researching basic ideas that can help start my level off. So far I have looked at other games which show level screen shots and concept art each having there own theme to stick to. My plan so far is my level to involve the use of water and give my level a distinctive look which could have areas underwater. I am also including that my level be theme around sci fi including that It will have a unique look towards the future, I would also add the fact that it can be a sci fi horror giving a different atmosphere when running around the level.

So far I am still researching getting more inspiration towards designing my level, but am looking forward to start developing and modelling my level will post more soon.

More Renders

With both cars completed for this project I still have some time before handing it in, so to finish off I taken my renders of the cars and tried to add some effects to them with Photoshop just to give some realism in the images. Didn't know much about adding effects but am happy with the result so here they are.

Completed Future Flying Car

With my research and some drawing I went ahead and started to make my car, creating different parts and attaching them to my car. Then finally applying textures and lighting to finish it off, so here are some renders of it completed.

Some Designs

Before making the car I did some drawing as to what my car may look like if it was flying just some images here.

Future Flying Car Research

So within this project i have said that we have to model a real life car and then turn design it to look like it can fly. With that in mind I was looking around for inspiration to help make the design of the car just want to post some images.

Some images that are going to help make my car have that flying look.

Completed Car

I have completed the first part of this course which is to make a real life car finished with texturing and lighting, so here are some renders my car.
